Used Cooking Oil

There are two kinds of people in this World

One who carelessly disposes of used oil by dumping it down the drain

Another who carefully stores the leftover oil and delivers it to Luxam Oils Trading LLC

Which one are you?

Why Used Cooking Oil?

Used cooking oil (UCO),has proven to be the crucial element in manufacturing biofuel, namely biodiesel. It is also a renewable energy that can be used as a volition for petroleum energy. We, as an organization, are helping our nation in converting UCO to Biodiesel by reducing foreign crude imports. On the other hand, we cover the health of the public by consuming reused cooking oil, which will lead to various health hazards. Biodiesel is nontoxic and biodegradable compared to fossil energy, which is alleviated from crude oil; biodiesel combustion produces smaller air adulterants similar to particulates, carbon monoxide, Sulphur dioxide, hydrocarbons and air poisonous. Cooking oil can be successfully converted into biodiesel through means of a simple chemical response. Using biofuel as a substitute for petroleum diesel is an extravagant solution to the inescapable global issues regarding energy deficit and environmental pollution. For both economic and environmentally friendly reasons, enforcing the use of cooking oils for biodiesel products has gained a significant quantum of consideration in the world of energy products.

Biodiesel

Biodiesel is an alternative renewable fuel with significant promise for addressing major energy problems. While biodiesel is not a "silver bullet" solution to our energy problems, it can provide 3% to 6% of the energy required in our country. Effective energy management systems are needed to optimize energy use across all sectors of our economy. Using biodiesel as a fuel reduces our dependence on foreign oil, promotes rural and agricultural economic development, improves environmental quality and public health, increases the lubricity of Petro diesel fuel, and conserves our fossil fuels.

How is Biodiesel Made?

Biodiesel is produced by combining feedstock oil with methyl or ethyl alcohol and a lye catalyst (such as potassium hydroxide or sodium hydroxide). This process, known as trans-esterification, separates glycerin from the fatty acid molecules in the feedstock oil. Each fatty acid molecule then bonds with an alcohol molecule. If methyl alcohol is used along with soybean oil and a catalyst, the technical term for biodiesel is soy methyl ester. If ethyl alcohol is used, it is termed soy ethyl ester. During the process, biodiesel (B100) floats to the top, while glycerin infused with alcohol sinks to the bottom. After multiple washings with water to clean it, biodiesel (B100) can be sold as fuel. Glycerin, on the other hand, can be utilized as an ingredient in cosmetics, shampoos, detergents, and soaps. It's important to either use glycerin as a valuable co-product or dispose it appropriately as waste.
